Happy Chinese New Year 2021

Dear MSBS members and supporters

Happy Chinese New Year of the Metal Ox.

The year of the Golden Rat had been a challenging year for many of us. The COVID-19 pandemic never seems to subside even after 10 months of creating imbalance and chaos in travels, businesses, schooling and the way we carry out our daily livings. The increase in the COVID-19 new cases over the past few weeks had again put many states into MCO (Movement Control Order). Restrictions on inter-state and inter-district travels are now being imposed. The MCO may extend beyond the Chinese New Year.

As the Chinese New Year approaches, the spirit to celebrate in the old ways has to be put on hold for now. Chinese New Year gatherings which were common activities to meet old friends and relatives are best restricted.

It will be wise to stay away from large gatherings and to stay home for the coming Chinese New Year. If we see this pandemic in a positive way, it is an opportunity for family members to spend some quality time to chat and to build bonding.

May I wish you and family abundance of happiness and good health. May the blessings of the Triple Gem protect and guide you and family always.
